Board of Trustee Committees

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee oversees the system of internal controls and the annual independent audit process of Leader Dogs for the Blind.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee conducts necessary business when the Board of Trustees is not in session. In addition to overseeing the general operations and management of Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Committee establishes policy guidelines in support of the organization’s strategic plan.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee oversees the fiscal accountability and budgetary affairs for Leader Dogs for the Blind. This includes monitoring fiscal integrity; establishing an annual budget to be approved by the Board; reviewing internal financial statements; and reviewing employee insurance, health and welfare programs.

Investment Committee

The Investment Committee manages the Board-designated fund of Leader Dogs for the Blind with care, skill, prudence and diligence. With input from selected investment consultants, the committee establishes reasonable and consistent investment objectives, policies and guidelines to recommend to the Board of Trustees.

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee establishes and maintains a dynamic, diverse and knowledgeable Board of Trustees, which includes overseeing the development and maintenance of an orientation and development process; mentoring and encouraging new Board members; and monitoring the fulfillment of Trustee responsibilities.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee assists with branding, communications, public and media relations and marketing initiatives and objectives in support of the organization’s strategic plan.

Philanthropy Committee

The Philanthropy Committee oversees the development and fundraising activities of Leader Dogs for the Blind, ensuring that the case for support is strong, current and based on the organization’s mission and goals.

Consumer Services and Program Committee

The Consumer Services and Program Committee oversees all programs to ensure that they align with the strategic plan of Leader Dogs for the Blind.  The Committee is responsible for monitoring and assessing existing programs, as well as facilitating discussion about new program development.
