Tevra Brands an Official Sponsor of Leader Dog
Leader Dogs for the Blind is pleased to announce Tevra Brands™, Omaha, NE, as the official flea and tick solution of Leader Dogs for the Blind. As part of their support, Tevra Brands will provide product for puppies being raised in prisons and private households, dogs in training and in the breeding program, and working Leader Dogs upon graduation. The product Leader Dog chose to use are the TevraPet Activate® II or Vetality Avantect® II flea and tick topicals. The benefit of these products is that they kill fleas and ticks, and repel fleas, flea eggs, ticks and mosquitoes to provide the best protection from the potential diseases carried by these harmful pests.
“Tevra Brands has a passion and a mission that naturally aligns with the mission of Leader Dogs for the Blind, which is to help people who are blind and visually impaired travel independently,” says Caryn Stichler, VP of Marketing Tevra Brands. “Every day Leader Dogs for the Blind executes against their vision by changing lives in a way that is difficult for most of us to understand. We are honored to work by their side.”
“Leader Dogs for the Blind is very excited to share a unified vision through our philanthropic partner Tevra Brands,” says Dani Landolt, Chief Marketing Officer Leader Dog. “We want to reach more people by combining efforts through Leader Dog supporters and Tevra Brands’ retail partners. The more people we reach, the more lives we can change. It is as simple as that.”
“The joint campaign is branded ‘Living a Life without Boundaries™’ with a shared objective to pair well-bred and trained guide dogs with qualified individuals who are blind—individuals who may have previously been limited in their travel—to help them experience a life of confidence and independence every day,” says Caryn Stichler.
Every year, 75,000 more people become blind or visually impaired in the United States; currently, less than 8% of people who are blind travel with a guide dog by their side. Leader Dog provides all services free of charge to every qualified individual wishing to travel more safely and independently with a white cane or a guide dog, and this partnership with Tevra Brands will enable Leader Dog to reach more people than ever.
As part of the awareness campaign, Tevra Brands is raising a Leader Dog puppy named Nellie. A Tevra staff member has taken on the year-long volunteer opportunity to teach Nellie basic obedience and proper social skills. Future Leader Dog Nellie’s journey will be chronicled on Tevra’s social media. Additionally, Nellie will be introduced to the public at Global Pet Expo as part of the partnership launch.
