Thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign—we would not be able to complete this renovation without you!
The interior of the old kennel continues to transform into the new Canine Development Center. Check back for the latest developments as we finish building the best environment for Leader Dogs.
Naming opportunities are still available and start at $7,500. For more information on naming availability, please contact us at 248-651-9011 or toll free at 888-777-5332.
We are happy to report that our team members, staff and volunteers alike, and our dogs are really enjoying phase two of the Canine Center. The south wing includes villages 1-5, a tack shop where leashes and harnesses are assembled, and a bathing room. Because the new housing suites are so large, we have been able to start cohabitating dogs, which many of them prefer rather than being housed alone.
Demolition on phase three, the final phase, of the Canine Center has begun. The interior of the east wing is a mess, which is good because that means old floors, walls and ceilings are being removed and construction will begin soon. We anticipate the final phase will be done some time during October, 2016.
