Recognition Programs
The pride Leader Dogs for the Blind takes in our association with Lions Clubs is reflected in an array of specially tailored recognition programs. We are committed to acknowledging the outstanding fundraising efforts of all Lions both on an individual and club level.
Regular Club Contributions
All donations to Leader Dog help provide travel independence to hundreds of our clients
each year. Every club that donates, regardless of the size of the donation, receives a
certificate of appreciation suitable for framing. Regular club contributions of $250 and
above are acknowledged with club banner patches. The patches indicate the contribution
level achieved in levels ranging from $250 to $25,000. Certificates and recognition
patches are mailed at the end of each Lions fiscal year.
Special Recognition
Out of the ordinary gifts deserve special recognition. Leader Dog has several opportunities for those clubs that elect to provide exceptional support.
Founders Tribute:
This program allows clubs to honor an individual club member or event sponsor for his or her consummate service, dedication and commitment to Lionism and Leader Dogs for the Blind. The Founders Tribute is available in three levels: bronze ($500), silver ($1,000) and gold ($2,500). The award recipient is given a custom engraved Leader Dog Founders Tribute plaque and a commemorative Founders Tribute pin and patch. The plaques, pins and patches are tailored for each level.
Top Dog Club:
For those extraordinary Lions Clubs comprising our Top 20 annual contributors, a Leader Dogs for the Blind representative will attend a club meeting to personally thank members. As a remembrance of the event, the club will receive a "Top Dog" patch for the club banner and each club member will receive special "Top Dog" pins. Out of the thousands that contribute to LDB each year, only 20 clubs receive this honor, making this a truly prestigious award.
Graduate Sponsor Banner Patch:
Those clubs that provide assistance to Leader Dog clients during the application, training and post-training periods will receive the Graduate Sponsor patch for their club banner. For more information, contact Kathleen Breen, manager of Lions engagement, at kbreen@leaderdog.org or 248-218-6407.
100% Awards:
To salute those districts in which every club makes a donation to Leader Dogs for the Blind in a Lions year, Leader Dog presents its 100% Awards. District Governors and Leader Dog Chairs from these exemplary districts receive a certificate and a pin saluting this significant accomplishment. To receive this recognition, donations must be received at Leader Dogs for the Blind on or before June 30 of each year to comply with guidelines set forth by the IRS.
