Future Leader Dog Phiz is one of the more than 400 puppies being raised right now across the U.S. to become the eyes and companion of someone who is blind or visually impaired. His puppy raisers will spend 12 to 15 months training Phiz to be the best puppy he can be, introducing him to all kinds situations and simulations, teaching him to make good decisions with positive reinforcement, and helping him to be calm and well behaved. When Phiz reaches adulthood, he will come back to Leader Dogs for the Blind for his formal training to become a guide dog.

Each year, we pair 200 highly trained Leader Dogs with people who are blind or visually impaired at no cost to them. With your help, we can raise and train many more amazing puppies like Phiz.
