Camp Gone to the Dogs
Raising Dogs and Raising Money
A special thank you goes to (pictured l to r): Bob Linn, Zalie Linn, Barb Hooper, Dennis Ayers, Sue Sternberg and Lori Ayers, Ellie Minturn, Jeanne Richter and Terri Hidenfelter. These Camp Gone to the Dog campers proudly displayed the quilt that brought in over $4,000 in donations to Leader Dog.
Imagine a Vermont ski resort with picturesque mountains, babbling brooks, shady old oak trees — and your dog. Welcome to Camp Gone to the Dogs where like-minded dog owners and their canine sidekicks go to learn agility, frisbee, obedience and various styles of dog training. Leader Dog was introduced to this great camp by veteran Puppy Raiser Barb Hooper.
Each session the campers hold an auction to raise money for their favorite charities. This year Dog Gone Cute Creations by Fran donated a quilt and tote bag to honor the memory of “Nick,” the first Leader Dog puppy raised by Barb. During session one the quilt went for $2,100 and the tote for $400, then the quilt was donated back to be included in the session two auction where it brought in $1,900 – for a total of $4,400 donated to Leader Dog.
We would like to thank everyone involved with Camp Gone to the Dogs for their continued support.
