Dog Walk to Benefit Leader Dog

Listen to Article

Every year the Animal Hospital of Syracuse tries to raise money for a worthwhile cause while also having fun with their staff and clients. 2008 marked their 4th Annual Dog Walk and this year Leader Dog was their charity of choice.

The walk has agility stations spaced throughout the course where the dog owner can try to get their dog to complete the apparatus. They’re not always successful, but both the dog and owner have a good time trying the weave poles, tunnels and small jumps. This is followed by a police K-9 corps demonstration and a local agility club “showing off” how well their dogs tackle the agility course.

Prizes are given to the person that raises the most money in business donations, the most money in individual donations, and to the person that makes the largest single donation. There are also refreshments and dog related goods to purchase.

The Animal Hospital of Syracuse employees had a great time planning and directing the Dog Walk and were thrilled to send a $10,000 check to Leader Dog.

Leader Dogs for the Blind would like to thank the Animal Hospital of Syracuse for their support and hard work.
