Puppy Counselors
At any given time, 350 to 400 of our puppies are living with volunteer raisers all over the United States and Canada. To help oversee this large group, Leader Dogs for the Blind assigns counselors to geographical locations.
Our Puppy Counselors are ambassadors, coordinators and advocates for Leader Dog. Some of their responsibilities include:
- Arranging monthly group activities designed to socialize puppies to a variety of experiences.
- Tracking and reporting the progress of puppies to Leader Dog.
- Representing Leader Dog in their geographical location.
Most importantly, counselors provide a wealth of support and information to our puppy raisers.
