Sunday, January 17‒Saturday, January 30, 2021
Application deadline: 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday, December 14, 2020
Participants ages 18‒24 years old in the U.S. and Canada can expect an awesome line up of free virtual activities designed specifically for this unique age group. Our focus will be on the next steps for independent travel, professional readiness and networking. To accommodate busy schedules, this program is partially self-guided and partially live. Live programming will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the weeks of January 17 and January 24, 2021. Each Tuesday and Thursday will include one pre-recorded video to watch at your own pace and one live session to follow up the video content. There will also be optional Saturday activities for both weeks! Pre-recorded and live content will be 60‒90 minutes in length. Zoom will be used as our conference platform for live sessions at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Participants can look forward to a Q&A session with guide dog mobility instructors and orientation and mobility specialists, a game night, a LinkedIn group to support connections long after the seminar is over, and lots more. Presenters will include O&M instructors, guide dog mobility instructors and some special surprise guests as well! Participants will receive a box of materials prior to this event to support learning during sessions. As with all Leader Dog programs, this seminar is 100% free of charge.
