Leader Dog Alumni Board
Leader Dogs for the Blind is proud to launch our first-ever Alumni Board, a groundbreaking milestone in our organization's history.
The Alumni Board is a powerful new initiative designed to foster a connected community among Leader Dog graduates. It offers meaningful opportunities for mentoring, networking, and advocacy creating pathways for alumni to support one another and stay actively engaged in our mission. By strengthening ties between clients, this board will help build a lasting sense of belonging and shared purpose, while also extending connections to our broader network of volunteers, donors, and staff.
This newly formed board is made up of 12 dedicated graduates who are committed to cultivating a supportive client community and shaping the future of Leader Dog programs. For the first time, alumni voices have a formal platform to influence and enhance the client experience ensuring that every stage of the journey is informed by those who’ve lived it.

"At the end of August, 2000, I went to Leader Dogs For the Blind to get my first guide dog; the day in which Dixie a female-yellow-lab was issued to me, that is when the door to real independence opened. The Alumni Board will give me the opportunity to share my experience of independence with those who want to live it."
