Virtual learning opportunities meet you wherever you are on your journey, whether you’re thinking about applying, actively participating in our programs, a recent graduate, a professional supporting people with vision loss, or a family member or friend seeking to learn more.
Collaboration Events
Spotlighting partner organizations in the blindness and low vision field. While Leader Dog offers many programs, we also connect you to additional resources that can benefit our clients and community. These virtual events take place bi-monthly on the last Wednesday at 3 p.m. EST and are open to anyone.

Professionals in Blindness
Every two years, Leader Dog hosts a multi-day seminar designed specifically for O&M professionals. Attendees gain hands-on experience with guide dog mobility, orientation aids, DeafBlind simulations and accessible technology.
- Dates: May 26–28, 2026 (Rochester Hills, Michigan)
- CEUs: 14 ACVREP CEUs for the in-person seminar (plus 2.75 CEUs for required virtual pre-learning)
- Cost: Room and board provided; attendees cover transportation
Seminar Highlights:
- Guide dog readiness and instruction techniques
- Juno walks and how to implement them with clients
- Networking and peer-to-peer discussions
- Time with Leader Dog’s guide dog and O&M instructors
Partner with Leader Dog
For over 22 years, Leader Dog has provided one-on-one orientation and mobility (O&M), serving more than 1,600 clients nationwide. Our free, individualized program supports clients at any stage, whether they’re new to the long white cane or looking for a skills refresh.
We know agencies and organizations in the blindness and low vision field face growing caseloads and rising service demands. Our certified O&M specialists are here to partner with you expanding your capacity, supporting waitlisted clients, and reaching individuals outside your region.
We also remove common barriers so clients can access training quickly and easily:
- No vocational goal requirements
- No upper age restrictions
- No limit on service hours
- No formal referral necessary
Together, we can ensure every client has the opportunity to travel safely and independently.
